great start next will be that dime and then quarters maybe a few silver rings even a gold one i own an xlt and love it very much had it a bout 5 months and found my first gold ring then i was surely hooked once you get the hang of that xlt you will never put it down unless you are married :' (good luck and H H

Sweet. The XLT will serve you well. Just go to a public park or school and detect there. You'll find lots of clad. Then after you learn your machine better you can start taking it to older sites to find older coins. HH ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Matt
