Lisa, Terri and I went back to the old house site that we hunted last week.

100_0849.jpg

The plan for today was to grid and dig everything above iron. And we did.
For all the 'old timers' here, you may remember the famous phrase from Jeff of PA: "Listen for the whisper". I did! ;D And it works! :D Only thing is, 99 percent of these 'older' coin finds were not reading like something I would normally dig. The sounds were 'whispers' but the readings were jumpy...anywhere from the 20's to 70's on all these. But since we had vowed to dig 'em, I did. Found all the wheats but two, and two of the mercs here. Also found the neatest Injun I've dug thus far. :) The site next door is the 'cache' site and we spent a few minutes over there. Not gridding, but did listen for the whisper and dug all above iron. Got one merc, two wheats, a blue police car, a bowling pin and bowling ball in the same hole :D and two buttons. I was really excited over the bigger button. Didn't have a clue what it had on it, but it was different that any I had dug before. The shank is different and it's a bit heavier than usual. Before leaving the site, I tried to wash some of the dirt off, but it's like that cement kinda dirt on it, and it doesn't want to come off. After getting home, I washed a bit more and am able to see the #4 and a swirly looking something at the top. Kinda reminds me of the buttons that Bird and Mike find/found in Europe?............. Anyone?

Wow, I really like the Lead Indian and also love the car, that's really old. Nice haul, I think I would go back
and dig all the targets, never know what you will pick up.

Great digs nana. I really like the car and indian. Just something about toys and being a kid. Like the silver also. WTG. From the looks of the place it will surely produce more. Thanks

Nice job nana. My best coin finds have come when digging an iffy signal. 'Course I also dig lots of crap when chasing those iffy hits...but it also pays off a lot of times.

Re: Three Silver, Fourteen Wheats, One Injun and a #4 Button

WTG

I have been finding that the same thing is happening to me the other day.
I dug a 1918 penny that was reading 22-25 VDI and broken up. Wouldn't have normally dug it but I did.
Then a bit later I got a 44-54 VDI which I don't dig much of them and it turned out to be a 54 dime ???

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SILVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and a mighty big injun too..........
