I actually wasn't planning on metal detecting today ~ my daughter's softball games were going to be taking up the entire day, but the first game got cancelled ~ so off I went!
I met Ron downtown ~ the weather was AWESOME!! We detected for a few hours ~ Ron dug a 1954 Franklin Half dollar! Here's what I found:
1929-S Mercury Dime
1939 Mercury Dime
Seven Wheats ~ '40-S, '46-S, '48-S '52-S, '53-S, '57-D, & '57-D
68 Memorial cents
12 clad dimes
8 clad quarters
1956 Canadian Cent
a couple keys
Has anyone noticed how well the older Canadian cents come in? My XLT was reading +88 & +89 and it pinpointed at 5 inches deep ~ I was half expecting a silver quarter! My XLT sure likes them Canadian cents.
I found the Turkey figurine just inches away from where Ron dug the 1954 Half dollar!
I took pictures of the Mercury dimes with my camera phone as soon as I saw that they were silver!
