My research turned up the general location of a rude log fort built in 1776 housing a company of white men and indians until 1779 when the british blockaded the river and it was abandoned! This is what the book said. I am not absoutely sure I found the exact site but there was a depression in the ground I did find some old junk inside and around the depression. my first musket ball. The only piece I truly believe to be colonial Is the long blob of really corroded cast ironon the left side of the pic. It was very deep and as u can see completly encased in rust . Is there any way 2 date the musket ball?? and what about the cast iron hoe? The buckle is all iron too ?? The only nonferrous metal I found was the copper bacelet bottom of pic. What do u think Colonial???

Looks a little small for a musket ball. Long nosed Muskets are about 16 or 17mm. Yours may be pistol shot?

Still some great finds. Hang in there, you are likely to find more things.
