Wow, Lonestar, ;D that's a beauty. ?It sure looks orange-red compared to others I've seen. ?

How did you clean her? ?Is there some kind of mark by the date? ?Do you ever tumble LC's or IH's? ?I'm afraid they'll loose details.

As always....lotsa questions!

She's a beauty lonewolf. I found a 25 a few months back. Love that nice smooth brown patina.

Large cent, Floater? :)

I decided to check in front of this house because it's been sitting there empty since I moved into the one I bought. I asked the old woman who lives next door to it who it belongs to, and she said she knew the owners for like 50 yrs before he/she/they passed away, and that the son owns it now, but probably wouldn't care if I poked around as long as I didn't dig big holes!

I washed off the dirt/crud, and dipped the coin in coin cleaner for about 2 seconds, then imed. while holding it under running water, rubbed it gently until it cleaned to the point you see it now.

Copper is 'tricky' when cleaning because if you over dip it, it will burn the patina off, and turn it several different colors.?
