Whites DFX 300
I just received my new DFX 300 last Wednesday and couldn't wait to try it out. I went to a farm on Sat. and Sun. that I have been working since Jan 08. This place still has lots to dig. After spending many days working the fields, my detecting buddy and I turned our attention to the front yard. The original house was built back in the early 1800's and was burnt down in 1902 and rebuilt. The slave quarters and some of the original buildings are still standing. I dug a couple of compacts I almost passed up one of them. I found two buttons one is a general service button and the other is a flat button. Both have "Waterbury" on the reverse. I also found a military unit shield that has been a bit of a task for me to identify (assistance is welcomed ). Some harmonica reeds (it would be nice to find one intact to some degree). I dug a couple of rings. One is silver with a "W" and doesn't appear to be that old, and also a small kids ring. I also pulled 10 wheats from the front yard of which the oldest is a 1917. There are two 1920's and the rest are around the 30's. This DFX is such a hot machine. I used the "Best Data" setting and all signals came in strong using the "tone ID and VCO". This place also has an old sawmill that until recently had been over grown. With this new machine comes renewed excitement of just what is next. Thanks for reading and checking this out. Good luck to all.
