real diamond ring

i found this ring in the water with a whites p i 1000 under water detector.
it was quite a suprise as i had just walked into the water & dug 2 ring pulls & the next sygnel was this beaut thing flashing in the sunlight, nearly had a heart attack. i live in melbourne australia & have been detecting for some 20 years ,

sorry about the crappy photo , have to either get a better camera or learn to use this
one , was first try so i hope you will bare with me .
the ring was 12 grams of 18 carat , valued at 2815$ aust . thanks for comments .

That's a good tonnage of gold; the ring appears massive! :)
I'm yet to find anything marked 18ct.
I know it's out there; got to get me a better nose! Lol!
