Unusual find (for a German field)

While detecting on one of my favorite sites which regularly produces finds from the roman era to the napoleonic wars, I found this one cent piece (Indian head),dated 186(3?) today. Is this a rare coin? for me it is unusual anyway.

That's a pretty cool find--and fairly early in our brief history over here. Our Civil War was going on the year that was made.

Cool find in Germany! It's funny how harsh the ground is to an American coin from the 1860's while you can pull a Roman era coin out of the same ground with nice detail.

I use Microsoft picture and fax viewer on photos in this forum alot, and I can get super close ups on every pic, and his injun is definitely an 1863
