That's a pretty cool find--and fairly early in our brief history over here. Our Civil War was going on the year that was made.

Cool find in Germany! It's funny how harsh the ground is to an American coin from the 1860's while you can pull a Roman era coin out of the same ground with nice detail. :icon_scratch:

I use Microsoft picture and fax viewer on photos in this forum alot, and I can get super close ups on every pic, and his injun is definitely an 1863
