Yo, oyster boys, what's up?
Well, The Three Datectateers got out today to my latest rasearch project. After two failed attempts to locate the site earlier this year, the third time was the charm. Colonial Silver Zeus secured permission for us to hunt this site, and Colonial KirkPA bought all three of us Chinese food for payment yesterday. Thank you, bro!
Simply stated, this is a 1787 site.
Well, to make a long metal datecting story short, I got a nice Colonial button within the first 2 minutes of swinging like John Walter. I later got the awesome buckle later on during the day. I ended with 4 buttons for the day.
Well, folks, I was sweeping along like John "Johnny" Walter, when I was startled with an "R" on "Quarter" reading on my White's XL Pro 6000; it turned out to be an 1838 largie. I went in a straight line and got another "R" on "Quarter," which turned out to be another largie. I went in a straight line and got another "R" on "Quarter," which turned out to be anther largie. I went 6 inches to the right of the last largie, and got a "P" on "Penny" reading on my White's. It turned out to be a Liberty Cap largie. It is identifiable in person.
Overall, the group excavated 6 large cents today, with 2 of them being Draped Busts and 1 a Liberty Cap.
Keep the fever high!
