I went camping at the beach last weekend, and of course I took my detector.

It was beautiful!

I found a bunch of clad and one silver earring, but not much else.

A friend and I had climbed to the top of those grassy dunes that you can see in the photo, and we were standing there admiring the view.

"I sure wish I had a chair", I said, "I could stay up here for awhile just soaking up this view".

As I said that, I leaned on my detector a bit, and it slid slightly.

As it slid, it gave off a junky signal--so I pinpointed it. "Might as well dig it", I said to my friend.

He slipped the trowel into the sandy soil, and out popped a jewelry box!

When we opened it up, we both about had a heart attack !! :o :o

Unfortunately, the two necklaces inside were both just costume jewelry. But what a rush! :o :o

Looks like you had a better weekend at the Oregon coast than I did. All I got was some clad, a room key and a bic lighter:)

Do you ever hunt the beaches after some of
those wild pacific storms? Jimbob

Not really. I'm in Portland--more than an hour away from the beach--so I don't go that often. I've sure thought about it though, especially when I keep hearing about all the sand going AWOL from the beaches!
