Hello everyone!

Today I met up with Mike B., Richard, and Ron to do some detecting about 40 miles north of here in Corvallis Oregon, Home of Oregon State University. We had a great time ~ Richard really shined today ~ the student became the teacher! He's gonna post his finds tomorrow because we forgot that we locked his digital camera in the glove box in my car~ he'll pick it up tomorrow so he can take pic's of all his awesome treasures!

Here's what I dug today:

1943-P War nickel
14 wheats ~ 1917 to 1954
12 clad quarters
39 clad dimes
11 nickels
82 memorial cents

Pictured is 1917-S, 1918-S, and 1925-S wheat cents and the 1943-P War nickel.

Thanks for looking!
Neil

Thanks man!

This is my 15th War nickel that I've dug this year! I've dug 72 Silver coins also (not counting the War nickels).

Neil,

You're still digging the oldies...that's nice to see. You've done very well with the war nickels this year. I know I don't have that many.

With those 14 wheats, you should have dug around 3-4 silvers. :'( My ratio this year has been around 4-5 wheats per silver. Don't feel bad...I've had worse ratios than yours this year.

Congrats, buddy!!
Let's see another Barbie!!

Hi Dan!

Yeah, I tried my hardest to dig a silver coin ~ I kept going over & over the same ground! The wheaties kept popping out of my holes, but no silver! I'm sure other's have detected there before us ~ but I can't imagine that someone would be that good of a detectorist to only dig the silver coins and leave all those wheats behind! ??
