    Picker's check/chit??

Hi all, I posted this token in Today's Finds, any info much appreciated - pretty sure it's a fruit picker's token - consensus is that the letters are "L.P.E. Co." - pretty sure it's an "E" and not an ampersand...
    Thanks!

    Re: Picker's check/chit??

It is quite possibly a tool check in that the number was stamped in after the item was made. Tool checks were usually numbered and a worker would be given however many he needed, all #7, for instance. He would check what he needed out of the tool shop and a check would be hung next to the tool holder while it was out. If, at the end of the shift, he turned in all but one of the tools he was charged with, it would be obvious to the toolmaster who had what. Of course, in many operations, the paymaster would dock the poor guy's pay - another twist on the old song "I owe my soul to the company store".

The only Pickers Token I'v ever seen was for most
Likely Berries. and had 4 QT s on it.
of course it could have been for Milk too.

Being yours dosn't say Bushel or Qt. or any other measurement,
and is an odd number, not 6, 12, 32, etc.
    My guess tool Check Also.
