War dog tag???

Since this tag is from fort dodge could this possibly be a war rabbies tag(dogs trained for war)?

Fort Dodge, Kansas or Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Either way, I doubt it had anything specific to do with dogs trained for war; the year is just coincidental.

I just this morning dug a 1951 one of these tags at a home outside Schenectady, NY.

It ranks as one of my odder finds

Very Cool tag!...I like those dog tax tags.....definetly nothing to do with a war..especially in 1946....Great find thou!

I've come to the conclusion that these tags were not issued by the city of Fort Dodge but that there was a rabies serum vaccine producing company located there called "Fort Dodge Laboratories" and when you vaccinated the dog using that company's serum you were given the tag.
