so while metal detecting an old orchard the other day I found this 1908 bank token. not sure how bank tokens were used, any info on bank tokens appreciated. on the front is a picture of the bank and I'm not sure what's on the back yet it's a bunch of writing.
According to the Pennsylvania token book your token's reverse reads:
We Solicit Your Business / Interest Paid On / Time / Deposits / M.J. Backenstoe M.D. / Pres. / H.W. Jarrett V. Pres. / E.E. Lorentz Cashier / Safe Deposit / Boxes For Rent
Tokensmith, would you happen to have any information on this Dubois, PA bank token ? I found in at a ghost camp in western Nevada and have not been able to find out much about it.
Thanks
Vic
Your token is also listed in the Pennsylvania token book. It is given a rarity of R-5 (9-20 known). There is also another variety from that same bank that says '30th Anniversary 1900-1930'.
