Heres what I have on West Virginia: In the 1930s someone buried $2.000 in gold and silver coins on the Carpenter farm, about hafe a mile from Bear Fork Creek near Groves Hollow, in the center part of Gilmer Co.

Another one you may want to check out, During the Civil War $300.000 in Confederate gold bullion was buried on the banks of the left fork of Buckhannon River, near the junction of Bear Camp Run, about a mile down the river from Palace Valley in Upshur Co.

When the U.S. Treasury called in all the gold coins in 1933, a man named Leeport lived near Henderson in Mason County. He decided to hide his money, about $200 in gold, in a fence post hole. He later died without revealing to his family the fence and post hole where he had hidden the coins. Leeport's farm was near the head of Salt Creek Hollow.
