I live in Central BC
Some of the best treasure hunting I have read about has to do with metal detecting old abandoned town sites.
More specifically those that were previous gold mining towns.
Most of the towns of this era were made of wood and most experienced a fire or two.
Some had board walks to traverse the muddy streets.
A little research to find where these Hotels, Saloons and Boardwalks were and a good metal detector can result in some very profitable finds.
Good Luck

Hello all, I am also from B.C. (coast and interior) google gold trails and ghost towns. It was a t.v. show a few years back, some episodes are on youtube. Also many books are available for your research, particularly Lost Bonanzas of Western Canada by Garnet Basque and many others. I agree with Robot, lots of ghost towns and old mining camps spread about, I know this first hand as I have been to a few. Drive, atv, hike, study maps, etc. B.C.s history is rich with wild tales of gold seekers, lost treasures, lawmen and scoundrels. Happy hunting, the season for this is here.
