human nature never changes. Lore of treasure (which is, of course, always iron-clad-true) has forever been told about . And it's just legend gone awry. If I had a dollar for every treasure story here in CA that I've heard, I'd be rich. Yes, even those with faded newspaper clippings, supposed eye-witnesses, etc...

"It has been said that..." "So & so testified that ...." are your first clues that this is all just relying on someone's over-blown imagination.

Jeff, some are true. However, let's just say for a moment that we granted that 99% are just overblown he-said-she-said telephone game stuff. And that we granted that 1% were true. (or use whatever ratio you want: 95 to 5, or 85 to 15, etc...) Then here's what the "faithful" would do next: They'd hear that, and presto: their particular story is the 1% iron-clad true one.

check this out Jeff, and see what I mean: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/m...ephone-game-how-plays-into-cache-stories.html

ok if I'm reading the above post right, You concede 1% could be true ?
then If you dismiss all Treasure stories without Research.
it is exactly like hoping to win the Lottery without buying a ticket.

as a treasure Hunter I try to stay positive & research before I decide.

so When I post these tales, I expect no less from others.
