Just get permission and detect the yards of houses and lots in the oldest part of the towns in your area. Also, some of the old farm steads have places to detect. A lot of times the front (or back) yards on farm steads is where family (cousins, and in-laws) got together for picnics and reunions. Just a suggestion.
