A Salute To the Navy Seals Team 6 Sharpshooters!
Re: Just a pile of rocks...

Welcome to the forum, thanks for posting those pics.
At first glance i like the first pic, the hoyo of course
tells me that this might be a real set of signs.
The shape of the hoyo is the classic diamond shape, which
says, 'go to' or 'look at' then the fact the on the right
side of the hoyo the chin of a - profile of what looks
like a colonial era face, to the left of the hoyo, it looks
like a sheep or similar shape animal head. Just below
that it looks like a bear or dog face, so things are
starting to add up - however the shadows look long
and late in the day, or maybe it is just the winter sun.
I would like to see some pics around noon and in the
summer sun, have patience, and if you have to park
and walk to a better spot to get the perfect pic, it
might be worth it. Try to have your back to the sun
when you snap the next pic, and lets know what you
come up with.
This might be an alpha monument, but can't be sure
with what you have shown so far!
Stick with it and take notes and have fun
auferiously

Re: Just a pile of rocks...
Is the "hoyo" the hole in the rocks, or the open space in the rocks?
If it was square or round would it indicate something different?

Re: Just a pile of rocks...
I was thinking that the type of rock lends itself to that kind of natural formation... lots of blocky and seperate pieces falling apart wedging themselves someplace. I dunno about making those hoyos by hand when there could have been so many other "closer to the ground" options...

Re: Just a pile of rocks...
Jim asked.......
Is the "hoyo" the hole in the rocks, or the open space in the rocks?
The purposely placed hole opening, where you can see the sky thru
the hoyo is the most single important confirmation mark that the
Spanish and Jesuits used to make the difference between ordinary
rocks and true monument rocks!
Holes i.e., 'drill holes' are also confirmation marks in that they take the
design one step further and now are showing distances!
If it was square or round would it indicate something different?
YES! the very shape of the Hoyo are huge clues as to what they wanted
you to learn, and it is the most overlooked area of the monument!
At the Alpha the hoyo can tell you what to look for at the Omega,.
All Hail the Hoyo lol
