Thanks for the help. I hadn't seen the "hat" or the "owl" before. The bird I was talking about is beneath the cross in the same photo with the owl.
I don't have any better photos of the cross that is too close, Hadji. I am going back to the site as soon as the snow is gone. I will have some much better photos along with some measurements after that trip. I took the photos several years ago when I knew even less than I know now, which isn't much. But, I'm learning. I need to scan in the photo that has the "N' and small star on it.
