"name" carved in rock, or something else?

Came across this on a bluff on a small almost deserted island in the Caribbean while on vacation?

Locals speak of Pirates (but don't they all!)

So, just someone who could not spell their name? or directions?

Something I did not notice at the time is the three "circles" before the first letter?

Yeah, I think there is a lot more than what we can see ... particularly on the right bottom where it almost looks like a man with a gun --- would love to see the rest of the area.

Oh, and the eagle is interesting as well

I don't know where you're seeing an eagle, but I see an angry shark coming out of the water near the top, just left of center. ...Sheesh, I really need to get to sleep!

Ok, so I actually got the chance to return and hope to re-visit the island this week!!

I plan to take my shovel and compass

I hope you don't go alone on this. After looking more there is a lot more information. It's not simple a pirate treasure. Take more photos from a distance. I didn't see an eagle either but I was looking deeper at it. It will not be that simple.

The dots may have a number value or be a stone markers.
