Found this while out metal detecting today. It looks like either a fish (shark?) Or snake, definitely looking in a certain direction, but another part of my thinks that it is a turtle head given how the rock is strategically placed above the head. Anybody have any interpretation of this? 20171127_160402.jpg 20171127_160419.jpg 20171127_160555.jpg

Ya that sure looks like some kind of reptile...with the flat rock behind the head i`d say a turtle.
Was there any metal around the area ?
Look for chisel/cutting marks in the mouth.
Cool find must mean some thing ?

Yeah, I'm going to look for more. I'm sorry, but I can't look at this and say it's natural. There's just no way!

Not natural. It may be a seal.
Id look/go in the direction it is pointing. Did you metal detect around it? If ypu do amd get a signal, dig down to it and clear around it, get a compass bearing, but don't move the object. Is this your first sign/symbol?

You’re right it looks like a turtle head! I think I saw water in one of the pictures I would definitely look in that direction for more clues!! Keep us informed.

Show the other side. If it's the other half of the face, then I will say not natural. It's definitely an animal head looking thing, but it's not Mount Rushmore. Is this rock surrounded by rock debris from chiseling it? Can you see chisel marks in the stone? What makes you think it is "not natural?" How do you believe this rock was altered? Are you being serious, or tongue in cheek?

Other side. No, I am definitely being serious. I think this was altered and not a natural formation.

Eh, more like slits. See, on the first side that I showed, it looks like a snake or a fish (possibly a turtle given the shell), but on the other side, if you zoom it in, it looks like a snapper.

The eyes...at least the one I can make out...seem to be closed. If I am not mistaken that is significant, but I will let others who have been at this longer speak up about that if that is indeed the case. And the mouth is open. Again, significant.

Can you get a good, clear close-up of this area I have circled?

I could, but not any time soon unfortunately. I did circle around it and climb on top looking for more, but didn't see any. I was kind of rushing as well though

I think I see carving work in the area I circled.
