I was talking to my aunt today and I was told a curious story about a very ambiguous small article supposedly in the SC Charleston "Post & Courier".
To make this short, I can not confirm or find the story I was told. Supposedly the article tersely stated the Army core of engineers found the largest gold deposit in US history in kershaw marshland. Can anyone confirm or find such an article?

gold... in marshland???
Or is that some county???
Or is it a civil war burial of the south's gold???
Bottom line if they found it, then if feasible they would have recovered it and that would have made big news someplace...
