[FONT=open_sans]A treasure inquest for the centuries-old silver seal matrix will be heard following the official opening of Plymouth coroner's court at Derriford Business Park on Monday.[/FONT]
[FONT=open_sans]A metal detectorist came across the rare find during a "normal day metal detecting" and immediately got in touch with an archaeologist at the University of Exeter.[/FONT]
[FONT=open_sans]The ancient item is thought to have once belonged to the Southcote family of South Devon as it bears the impression of the family coat of arms.[/FONT]
