Thanks for the link...that was a very interesting story. That landowner just may have some nice artifacts, if the state hadn't already purchased the land from him. I know in NC, if digs are done on your property, all artifacts are property of the land owner (as in my hubby's case)....

I love the part about the two wells, and finding household debris. I wonder if they found anything exciting like they did at Jamestown.

I would assume (there I go again assuming)....wouldn't they have, if they have the patents/deeds of John Avery...would it state where the house was located? I guess not all of them do...hope they have been trying to locate old land plats that should give an indication of the location of the home. Interesting to see how this story unfolds.

I noticed they kept the homeowners name secret, wish they did with my hubby's...but that's ok...location was never disclosed (well, not physical addy).
