Dark and Bloody Ground - The Battle of Mansfield and the Forgotten Civil War in Louisiana: The one theater of the Civil War that history has "forgotten" - The Gulf Campaign "was to conquer the southernmost states west of the Mississippi River was the only unsuccessful phase of the war for the Union. It came to an abrupt halt in a blood-soaked Louisiana wheat field on the outskirts of a small woodland town named Mansfield." Great story indeed. NEW.
