Curious how much have you seen the Fisher 1235X M-Scope go for these days? Fisher option hip mount, downfall weight and batteries over the Cibola other then that not sure, kind of fond of the Fisher myself, maybe because I already own a Vaquero. Fisher 1235 has the frequency adjust at 5.2KHz to 5.7KHz. Tesoro at 14.3-14.7KHz. You still can buy these new though, Where the F1235x has been around for a long time still going strong and durable machine and a 'classic' in my mind, getting to be an antique collectors item too. I can't even locate the manual online, but there are some saying go with the 1225X manual, but to me it is missing the freq button. Sorry can't help you to decide but if I were to choose it would be the Fisher, and delpth looks good too.:coffee2:

Also will you be doing any competition hunting seems the frequency shift will help in this area.

Some are selling there 1236x2 for $175 used!! so to me for this unit can't go wrong for the price..enough said for this unit. Seems to me though people have been going with the Cibola as well though..and a really good detector if you go with this..very light one 9volt and punches deep too like the Fisher I imagine. But you probably new all this already and just looking for one used either or? Hope you find what you are looking for. HH.

When I sold my 1235x several years ago, I regretted it right away. Have seen them go for a low $125 and a high of $200 depending on condition and weather it was the open or solid coil.
Personally I like the fisher as I am familiar with fisher because I have owned at least 4 different fisher models over the years.
As for the Cibola it will do for me also.
I only want one for competition hunts. Most people in the club don't like it if I pull out the safari (too much interference), besides it is too slow. But great for everything else.
