Re: TREASURE: "Search for Lost Confederate Gold"

if its the same one where they end up swimming around in a mill canal in sc its not worth watching...the mans research bites....there was no coded letters written by trenholm while in prison...i have them all...you can plainly see that they were the result of his sickness with neuralgia and its treatment with large amounts of morphine, and far from being coded treasure pointers......he states that if he had certain info about the route travelled by trenholm he could figure it out...i called him numerous times to tell him where the info he is after was in the form of trenholms wifes diary, but he had not the decency to return my calls...and the funny part being that the info he has been looking so hard for for years is available to the public in the special collections dept as HIS local college, where i found it years ago.....and even with that he will have about as much chance at finding it as he does swimming around in the millrace................if not mistaken this show will also have an interveiw with a W.C.D.....your basic historian, who sees only what is in print by shelby foote, bruce catton, official records by the likes of w.philbrook, clark, etc, and calls it fact....far from being the specialist on the subject he wants to be.............just a couple cents worth,,,,,,....gldhntr

I think gldhntr is correct. I have seen this show before and I think it is the same one. The problem is there is no large Confederate Treasury to search for. Sure there might be small caches stashed here and there. But in reality most of this money has been accounted for. Better to look for lost payrolls or weapons stashes.

It shows how to be a treasure hunter without a clue. It is amazing how unprepared the dude in the river is. No wounder he has not found anything. I am betting he never will.
