    US zone indicates post WWII I believe. It's a nice looking piece.

    The "U. S. Zone" mark, used during the period when the U. S. occupied Germany following WWII, dates the ashtray c. 1945-49. There are collectors who favor items with this mark in the same way that others do collectibles marked "Made in Occupied Japan."

    A rectangular floral pattern Schumann ashtray with the same type of mark is currently offered on eBay at a "Buy It Now" price of $21.95:
