so i found this framed print in a pile of junk at a flea market. $5
i'm a commercial artist and an art teacher. i've done several etchings and was intrigued by the print but only bought it for the imagery (didn't see the sig).
i brought everything home (still hadn't seen the sig) and the frame and matting were quite old (musty) and falling apart; the glass was rather thick and dirty.
i kept looking at the imagery and it all clicked. in an instant i'm on the internet trying to find anything about this print.

after looking at the print through a loop, i'd guess this is a "restrike"
i've seen this print (melting clock) with color applied via lithography and dated 1968.

i threw out the frame, matting and glass... paper measures 9 7/16" x 12 3/8"

Just sent an e-mail, thanx for the good intel.

I'm gonna say this print isn't worth much, but i've always wanted "something" dali.
I entered art school at the time of his death...

I'm very close to the St Pete Dali museum, I know his works well
I have several limited edition's of dali numbered lithos
Do your self a favor, - google known dali signatures, I could be wrong but the signature doesn't look correct
wonder why the signature doesn't match the pencil drawing
pretty sure it a artists rendition, interpretation of dali works
IMO

If its an original sketch...JACKPOT.

The signature does look different, would be nice to see a closeup of it.

here's some good intel from the Dali Museum. They got back to me!

"This is from the Album suite published by Jean Schneider in 1963. The work is titled “Soft Watch” and it was done in a limited edition totally only 241 prints. The original printing was in sanguine. The original plates were pierced to stop any reprinting.

Over the years someone reprinted them in black and in this case added an atypical signature. The print is also in pretty dire condition so probably having it restored would be cost prohibited."

That's got to be the nicest way to say it's a fake I've ever seen.

I haven't had the highest opinion of the St Pete Dali "museum" in the past but I'll give them points for style!

i'm OK with "fake" if the plate used to make the print was an original Dali plate.
I asked for clarification...

other than that, I bought a print with imagery i liked for $5 and got to post up about it.

I fell in love with the St. Pete Dali museum years ago when my girlfriend and I used to vacation at a nice, quiet spot in Indian Beach. We visited the museum each trip and were never disappointed by the expert tour guide. We were lucky enough to get the same lady guide on every visit and there wasn't a question she didn't have an in-depth answer for. The museum is a real gem of St. Pete !
