I purchased this Hermes bust from a friend in his late 80s who said he purchased it at an estate sale of a very old home many years ago. The bust has similar texture and feel to ivory, as well as the weight to go along with it. There is a mark hammered into the back (See pictures.) It has marks where it has been hand carved, so I’ve ruled out the modern “alabaster paste cast.” 537958EB-D8C2-4AED-B201-0AAED0B162CB.jpeg B5BE2EA7-5225-4A84-A563-B44F569A645A.jpeg 2463063D-1B14-4BA7-AF63-9B543CB41869.jpeg 463F1E87-522B-4825-8021-3FE756FB0840.jpeg 537958EB-D8C2-4AED-B201-0AAED0B162CB.jpeg B5BE2EA7-5225-4A84-A563-B44F569A645A.jpeg 2463063D-1B14-4BA7-AF63-9B543CB41869.jpeg 463F1E87-522B-4825-8021-3FE756FB0840.jpeg Any info would be greatly appreciated!

It isn't ivory. It is most likely a resin based composite.
