WWII era B-52 part

This is a radar bombing control panel from a B-52 bomber from 1938 and likely used in the war. I’m having a hard time finding anything online about it and can’t really find any other examples. There are other B-52 control panel parts on eBay but most aren’t WWII era, none are for this function, and most have no label or markings (but this one does).

Anybody care to venture a guess as to value? I bought it today from a local auction house.

WWII ended in 1945, the B-52 bomber was first flown in 1952.

B52? Or B25? The B52 was not designed until after WWII.

My dad worked at Naval Avionics NAFI for 36 years, worked on many projects including the norden bomb sight.

No idea about that specific model but I would suggest contacting a few airforce museums like National Museum of the USAF

I got B-52 from a WWII Aviation forum. A guy said the APS-64 mark on the back was used in the B-52. But the date on the back says 1938. Unless I’m misinterpreting what the 1938 means. Or maybe the B-25 used APS-64, too?

The C-1938/APS64 is the part number- the 1938 is not a date.

The unit is part of the APS64 radar system from an early B-52 - these began to come into service in 1952.

The "1938" is part of the nomenclature for the part, not the year. The APS64 is the radar system that this control was connected to.

You guys are great! I wish I hadn’t read too much into the 1938 number so I wouldn’t look like such a jackass. Safe to say the value is somewhere in the $75-100 range?
