Hey Guys, posting for a friend... I already posted this on today’s finds but I’m wondering if anyone would take a shot at what they think this coin is worth. I believe it’s a Newman 1-L with close letters on “mind your business”. Thank you and happy hunting.

Should he have it graded and slabed? Would it be worth having a professional clean it any farther? It’s just been rinsed with water.

It definitely has environmental damage which is more than likely how it will come back if you had it slabbed. To me it looks like a popular United Stats four Cinquefoil variety.
I would be comfortable paying 350 for it even with damage it may fetch up to 800. I may be completely wrong because they tend to go all over the place when offered up. If this were not dug it would be easily a 2K coin IMO Send good photos to ha.com numismatic department They will jump through hoops if they are interested in it.
