    here's two umm well.......things

    Found these out hunting this weekend one is very small looks like part of a piece of jewelery. the other looks like copper or brass and is nicely decorated but broken on the end.

    Buttons are tombac...late 1700s...

    Keep diggin!!! Looks like a broken trunk drawer handle and rosette from an old trunk to me. You might have stumbled on someones old trash pile

    Thanks for the ID romeo. when I popped them out of the ground at first I thought the were big silver, but these are just as good.

    Newbiepro I thought it was some kind of drawer pull but the screws on the top are too small and the is an arch where they would mount so they connected to something that was curved.

    Everything was found in a large corn field that was recently plowed.

    Thats exactly what made me think trunk drawer pull...some of the mid to late 1800's trunks I have seen have small drawers built in...in the nicer trunks the front of the drawers are curved, hence the curve at the mounting point and the pulls are very small, more ornamental than functional.
