I'm more of a reader than a poster but i found this coin while hunting this week and i really dont know what it is except for a copy of something.
on the top of the coin it says ceaae on the reverse it says copy. just wanting to know what the ceaae would mean. i really couldn't find anything
anywhere. this is the first time posting pictures so I'm not sure how they will turn out

This Gela tetradrachm has been the subject of more inquiries to me than any other 'coin' since I have started this site. This particular copy was produced as an advertisement for a book on Ancient Greece and was sent to thousands of addresses glued to a paper ad.

I know this is an old thread , but, I have questions.
I have two of these coins. As good condition as the one shown by Bigcypresshunter. In the link, I can't find any info on this coin. The link opens on page 6. I've looked on other pages, also and found nothing. cache:... - Google Search

I know mine are copies, but, what are they made of. Is this true; "This particular copy was produced as an advertisement for a book on Ancient Greece and was sent to thousands of addresses glued to a paper ad."
Mule
edit: I guess the link did not work in my post. It is the link, and image, posted by bigcypresshunter.

The center indentation (red) was to hold a blob of glue where it was glued to the paper or book. I cant remember but these may have been given away with Readers Digest.
