    Can anyone ID this knife/dagger?

The woman said it belonged to her father and that he had it for as long as she can remember. It was with a bunch of his Military related items from an estate sale. He was a WW2 Vet. It is about 11 1/4 in. long total and the blade is 6 1/2 in. long. No marks of any kind on it. Anything of quality would be marked, right? what do you think, cheap imitation?

Any idea how to clean up the rust on the blade of this knife?
