    Not even a clue...

I don't even have a clue what this might be. I think it's made of lead and polished on the outside. Possibly coated with another metal. It's about 3.5" long and the cone is hollow inside. Had a piece of cork in it, but it washed out when I cleaned the dirt from it. It was found in a field next to a church, so maybe something to do with that? I dunno....

    Happy Hunting!!

    Bottle stopper?
missing the cork or rubber on the tip
perhaps the cork found inside was saved from the tip

I agree, and judging my the ornateness and being located close to a church, I'd go with a stopper for communion wine. Interesting find, Breezie

Hmmm....I could see that too! Might have to talk with the people at the church. They might have something like this in their possession already.

Is it hollow? Looks like a finial of some type if that is wood stuck in the large end. Perhaps like a curtain rod end or a flagstaff? My guess would make more sense if the item was turned around with the skinny end at the top. Monty
