    antique coke sign help?

    This is a recently acquired coke sign. I bought it for $300 at an antique shop. I was hoping if someone could tell me what it is specifically? and what it is worth? The sign is 108 by 40. Thank you

    Specifically it's a Coca Cola sign worth about $100+

    Did you do any research before you purchased it?

    awe ~

    Your tin Coca Cola sign is from the mid 1940s to the mid 1950s and would have been displayed in a variety of places such as on the outside of stores, etc. It is a good sized sign and appears to be in good shape. Here in southern California you likely would not be able to purchase one like it for less than $300.00. One in mint condition could easily net $500.00+

    On your particular sign the "Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." is under the signature script. Prior to about the mid 1940s "Trade Mark Registered" was located on the 'tail' of the capital C in the word Coca. { See picture below }

    P.S. ~ I am currently researching "T.M.I.B. Bulletin" ... which I am not immediately familiar with. I believe the term "Bulletin" generally refers to outside advertising. I have a list of appx. 300 different manufactures who made Coca Cola items, but none of them fit the letters "T.M.I.B." so I suspect it represents something else. The "T.M." might stand for "Trade Mark." I will continue to look and let you know if I find anything. By the way ... are there any other letters or numbers on the sign?

    i looked around some and could not find your exact sign,but i did find an entry of when
    the slogan...Drink Coca-Cola in bottles...was first used
    Drink Coca-Cola in bottles 1910

    you might find something in the coke blog

    i looked some in the virtual museum,but didnt see it,cool place though

    this mans guide/s could prob be found at your local library
    Petretti's Coca-Cola Collectibles Price Guide: The Encyclopedia of Coca-Cola Collectibles

    my moms cuz has the bottle cap sign and an old cooler, with the bottle opener,the last time i saw them
    they were in excellent shape,so im guessing from reading up on coke collectables,at auction hers would
    go for about 4-500$ for both,maybe more it depends on how much the item is wanted too,so if your
    going to auction your sign read up some,so you can get a ballpark idea of its worth
