Is this what I think it is?
This is another relic I found at the old log cabin site. It is brass, 1 3/4 X 1 3/4 inches with three holes. My guess is a woman's heel plate ( too small for a man's heel ). Am I right?

Yes,it is a heel plate but be aware,mens feet,and stature all together were much smaller in days of old.I would doubt such an aggressive sole would be needed on that of a womans foot wear?
I wasnt able to find the average size shoe of a soldier at the time of the C.W. but have seen period foot wear and will attest they were small and narrow!
I did find that the average womans shoe was size 7,and a short snippet of the staure of the average soldier
