An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Have you considered it may not be an anchor--as found on a boat?

You maybe right, their is barnicles on the anchor so assumed it was used as a anchor. I can't find any info on the net about bronze anchors except it was used by the navy on minesweepers and their is a few cast iron anchors of the same shapejayjay80876@gmail.com

Dirigo folding anchor (or a similar copy). I have a galvanized one that's pictured below from the 1880's to 1920's. Picked it up at a flea market and it was in my sailboat until last spring (now in my cellar).

Still a great anchor for rock and weed or as a storm spare. I don't recall seeing a bronze one!

It's worth a couple hundred $ for practical use. No idea how collectible that version may be.

America was founded by tough hell-raisers. Rugged citizens who evaded taxes, spoke strongly against tyranny, grew tobacco, brewed beer, distilled spirits, and smuggled weapons. And it will be saved by those same types of citizens.

The scrap price would be a good $120.00 or so, if it's not in working condition.
