Need help with an ID of this Skelton key.... ???

    Hi...

Still green at figuring out what certain finds are...
Was wondering what this skeleton key would go to and possibly how old is it?

Happycamper has it... Pocket door key. They were made that way so they would be completely inside a recess in the lock plate so as not to hit the wall when the door was opened

    Name: pocket.jpg

Size: 9.6 KBIt would have been used with a plate similar to this one
"That's me, on the beach side combing the sand, metal meter in my hand, sporting a pocket full of change"...... NOFX

I collect military relics, mainly German and American, but interested in others as well, pre 1914 - 1945 era.... Always interested in adding to my collection

It's hard to say, my grandparents house was built in the 1880's and had pocket doors with keys pretty much just like yours, but I've seen them in houses built in the 1930's as well. Any houses where you found it that might have a pocket door?

All the houses where this park is are very old... probably late 1800s to 1920s or so... so yeah I would imagine some have a pocket door... next time I go out i will have to pay closer attention to that...
