    Ridgeway floor clock w/ moon

I just bought a Ridgeway moon floor clock at an estate sale. I doesn't have a serial tag on the back where some on the web site says there should be one. The Ridgeway logo is "burned" into the wood on the back.
I removed the side "grill" and there is a paper tag inside on the works, which has: MOVEMENT 3/53 and SERIAL 32729.
Can anyone tell me the age of this clock?

My guess would be it is from around 1953, based on the marking on the movement.

The comments on the I-net say there should be a metal tag on the back with serial number.
Does anyone know if they put these tags on the back in 1953? Or is the paper tag inside original?

Your clock has the look of a relatively modern clock, likely dating to the 1980s - 90s.
As you can see below, they started making Grandfather Clocks in the 1960s.

"The Ridgeway Furniture Company began as The Gravely Furniture Company in 1926 and started producing Grandfather Clocks exclusively in 1960. This makes Ridgeway the oldest continuously produced grandfather clock brand in the United States. Tens of thousands of Ridgeway Clocks since 1960 are part of American families' legacies to be handed down through generations... now a Howard Miller Company."

Here's a link to the makers website... Ridgeway Clocks Official Web Site

I understand your comments, but I am still puzzled by the clock having the paper tag on the inside staying the movement 3/53. And also, not having the plate on the back as several on the internet say it should have.

Back in the day, pocket watch & clock movements were often 'reused' in more fashionable up-to-date clock cases... maybe this is what happened to yours?
The movement might have been 'new old stock' that Ridgeway Furniture had, then 'reused' it in your 1980s clock case.
Your clocks movement doesn't appear to be from the 1950s, so 3/53 is more likely to be the style or inventory number.

not only back in the day, but currently as well. very few clocks that were regularly used still have original parts/movement. especially the older ones which are not made anymore.
