    Help on Baltimore badge

Dug this in Baltimore City today. It is vintage Baltimore but I have not had any luck figuring out the connection. I have seen C.W.A. identified as a "Communication Workers of America" but I don't think that is what this badge represents. Any help is very much appreciated.

A little more thinking about "C.W.A" and the words "Civil Works Administration" came to mind. In fact the CWA was started in the early 1930s as part of FDR's "New Deal". Here is an example of an CWA employee's badge from Milwaukee. Click image for larger version.

I wouldn't discount the Communication Workers of america angle. That union has been around since the 30's.
large areas like docks/ports used tags/badges/pins as ID to get in and out.

All the lettering on that badge is with serif typeface. Wouldnt that make it older than the 1930's?

I think you are on the right track with the union idea,..specifically the news guild.

I suppose there could be a remote chance, too, of it being associated with ....: ( https://planning.baltimorecity.gov/s...0Baltimore.pdf)

The pin on the back is old style and the lettering is old style. Thats a 19th century badge or very early 20th..
