Couple buttons found in a Minneapolis park where I've found coins from 1875-1945

Found these three buttons and can't seem to find them online.

    Any ideas?

If you could show us a picture of the back of your buttons, this will help us to date them for you.

Added a pic of the backs. Let me know if that helps. Two of them were pretty toasted

Button #1 is a fashion button. Native American symbols. Mid 20 C, I'm guessing.

These are listed as 'Aztec', which is ridiculous, but you see the symbols.

I saw a couple buttons on the net similar to your second one. Many thought it was a CW era North Carolina 'starburst', but those all seem to have NC in the center. Others thought it was from an unidentified military academy. It could simply be from a marching band uniform. The style is mid to late 19th C.

Button #3 is a post-1902 Great Seal button - US Army. There is a T-net thread all about dating them.

Back pictures didn't work for me. Your last button is a U S army one. Known as the "Great Seal" button it was introduced in 1901. In 1910 anew version was made which had a rim around the edge. They are still in use today. The backmark will help narrow down the time frame. If the backs on the other two buttons are rusted then they are probably civilian ones.

I found a button very much like your second one on the Waterbury website listed under fashion "stars".

The rusty back of the "star button" indicate it is a more modern button. 19th C buttons have a brass back that doesn't rust like that.

Being that the Great Seal is a small one it is most likely a cuff button.
