    Old Flat Button?

Found this in a modern neighborhood in North Eastern Ohio but before the neighborhood was built there was a lot of activity in the late 1800s so I detected there. Only good find was this button, I don’t know much about these types of things so if anybody could give me any info on it would be appreciated. I think its copper and it was gold plated at one point. No detail on front but ornate design on back.

Lots of info on your c1830 - 40 period button. I would try and Google the makers name on the back and see what pops up.

    Nice find,

    Nice find!

These are fairly common at old sites, and as mentioned above, are from the early-mid 1800s and made for civilian use. Indicative that there might be some old coins or other relics nearby!
