I do not have the 10x5 but it will have better separation in trash a wider coverage but less depth. think Knife blade down the center 10" long and about 6" deep.. vs 9"round cone 10" deap with the small pointy end down..

The 5x10 SEF is a DD coil and the 9" Spider is a concentric. I do not have the 5x10 SEF but I do have the 5x10 Eclipse. My general go to coil is the 9" Spider for coin hunting. It ID's bottle caps and trash better than DD coils in general. The 5x10 DD will work better in moderately mineralized ground and give better separation in places laden with iron like old homesites.
