the book of Jack is a compilation of entries and knowledge from experienced users I used to have a copy but have lost it somehow... It is a PDF and lowjibar at the American Detectorist Forum had it and would send it yo anyone who requested it. I have left a post there but as yet no response.
Does anyone here know of it or have a copy?

John (Lowjiber) said he has a copy somewhere on a back-up drive from an old computer.

I got a copy of the Book of Jack.
If anyone else would like a copy I got the go ahead to share it.
It is an older version but still good. Not sure there has been any updates.

That would have helped starting out. I had seen it referenced when searching out certain information but never saw a link. I found myself really enjoying the read. Thank you johndoe.:icon_thumright:

Your welcome. Glad I could help.
If you have any questions I'll answer them if I can.... Still learning myself.
The area the Book of Jack has helped me the most is using the correlate mode.... just getting started with that so still learning it.... But I can see some advantages already.
I have been running the V3i for over 3 years and not as much as I would like but I have made some good finds.

I feel I need to give a "shout out" to the originator's of The Book of Jack.

CyberSage (Jack) got a V3i when they first came out. He would do posts about his experience and what he learned. Lowjiber (John) would compile this info and it became...The Book of Jack! :notworthy: Two great guys this hobby allowed me to get to know!

Excellent we definitely need to give credit where credit is due for without them we would be much less enlightened ....
Thank you CyberSage Jack and Lowjiber John.... We are indebted.

Even though we think we have the basics down pat here is a post that might be helpful to review.

Hi Wyoming Valley Relics.
Good question.
My understanding is that the ground filters are employed only in the disc mode and that all metal is not affected by them.
I will look into this further for you and also for my own clarification.
Thank you and happy hunting.

I have gotten some additional input regarding this.....
I will post as soon as I find a solid answer on this.
But so far all indications lead to the filters being active only in DISC. mode.

There does appear to be a caveat to this in that the signal is passed thru the filters in all but the pin point mode, if the all metal mode is a motion mode then the filters will apply to it. if it is non motion they will not apply.
Hope this helps.
