DNR's Metal detecting ban makes the newspaper...sort of

It seems to be kind of a dormant board here, but here goes.

In this article about my efforts to reunite rings with owners, Jim Stingl of the Milw Journal Sentinel mentions the DNR ban. Perhaps it's an opportunity to flood his email box with your thoughts on the ban...maybe we can get a respected columnist on our side.

drew this is a good thing you are doing to bad you didnt take up the hobby. It is really hard to return the class rings some of the people I have returned them to try to blame me for stealing them.

Steve, some people just have a genetic inability to be polite. Nobody has blamed me yet!

Oh, I am taking up my dad's hobby. As a result of this (and the previous article) lot of people are calling with lost rings. I could spend the next two years pulling permits.
