1916 d or s Mercury? I can't find my loupe!

Howdy folks,

I got $200 machine wrapped dime rolls from my credit union today (they like cookies). Besides a 1960 d ender, I also scored this 1916 Merc. :headbang: While I'm pretty sure it's an S mint, it would sure be nice to get a second, third, fourth (well, you get the idea) opinion. A guy can dream, can't he?

I'm going to ditch work early tomorrow and take it to an LCS for confirmation.

Thanks for looking.

With love,
from Mars.

Nice score on the merc.. Does'nt appear to be a D to me but good luck..

Hey! I see what I want to see! Lol! Yeah, now that the rush has cleared from the head, I see the "s".

Thanks, guys!

I found a 1916S back in May and I can tell you without a doubt you've got an 'S' on your hands. I'd just hang out at work tomorrow. The 1916S makes me laugh though cause if you found a 1917 Merc, it would probably be exciting to get an older one. But when you find the inferior 1916 Merc, you get filled with disappointment...at least those were my feelings. It should still be thought of as a good find in my opinion in that the '16S is one of the tougher dates to find.

Thanks, Sleepy. This is my oldest dime so far so I'm not dissatisfied. It fills a hole in the album, and the Ender was icing on the cake.

BTW, I really enjoy your dime thread.
