This is a good example of an 80-plus year old coin that seen a great deal of circulation. It has seen the effects of rolling machines, counting machines, and years of bouncing around in pockets with other coins.

Your enthusiasm shows, but so does your inexperience. If there is a local coin club, I suggest you join. Direct exposure to the experience of others could be helpful to you. Ask at local coin shops, they may know whom to contact.

Time for more coffee.
